Together we can save the lives of youths who urgently need open heart surgeries

Healing Valves North America’s mission is to save Ethiopian youths who are suffering from heart disease by providing them open-heart surgery and post-surgical care

Asdenaki

Asdenaki is a 17-year-old boy from Bansa, a small village in the southern part of Ethiopia. His mom passed away when he was 4 years old, and his dad is blind. He comes from a very poor family

Asdenaki suffered from an acute obstruction of blood from his left ventricle due to congenital anomaly of right coronary sinus.

Healing Valves North America made a call for donors to help pay for Asdenaki’s surgery. With donors from USA and Ethiopia, the needed funds were raised to provide Asdenaki with lifesaving care.

Urji

Urji was in heart failure when she came to Healing Valves. She was so sick that the medical team was worried she would pass away before enough funds were raised to cover her surgical care. Fortunately, a team of Ethiopian cardiac care team came together and performed a successful open heart surgery. This would not have been possible without the support of your donations to Healing Valves North America.

Dhabi

Dhabi had a recurring strep that was untreated since he lived in a remote part of Ethiopia without ample medical resources. The repeated infection caused rheumatic heart fever that badly damaged his heart valves. As all of the patients Healing Valves North America supports, Dhabi is from a very poor family who are not able to afford the expenses of heart surgery. Dhabi had a successful open heart surgery because of volunteer cardiac team and donors like you.

Meet The Team

Mesfin Yana Dollar, CCP, LP

As a 14 year old living in a rural village in Ethiopia, I was at a point of death due to rheumatic heart disease that destroyed my heart valve. I am given a chance to live because of an organization that sponsored me to have open heart surgery in the USA. Join me in helping children who suffer from severe heart disease.

Fana Hailemichael, MSN(c), RN

As a heart disease survivor who was given a second chance in life by the generosity of strangers, I know how the kids feel, I know how scared they are, and I know how they don’t know what tomorrow will bring to them. That’s why I joined Healing Valves North America to fight for vulnerable children with my healed heart.

Amsalu Beshah, MS, CCP, LP

The Heart is the first organ that gets formed in the process of brining human beings into life. I often say human life starts from the heart because of this fact. I participated in a mission that performed many cardiac surgeries in Ethiopia. I joined Healing Valves North America to help more people in my country Ethiopia.

Bereket Kindo, PhD

I have been given many chances in life by strangers – even when I thought I didn’t deserve it. With the generosity of strangers and local cardiac care talent, Healing Valves North America gives hope and another chance at life to the most neglected. Join me in alleviating the widespread burden of rheumatic heart disease.

Let us work together to heal the hearts of those who need it most
